I've been doing some research on the benefits of massage therapy and your immune system. Regular massage treatments, one or more per month, increase the efficiency of the circulatory and lymphatic systems. The circulatory system is responsible for bringing nutrients to cells and removing toxic byproducts of metabolism. Meanwhile the lymphatic system is responsible for removing such toxins and capturing and destoying invading bacteria and viruses. By increasing lymphatic flow, massage therapy directly enhances the immune system.

Massage is most notible for reducing stress. But have you though about the negative effects stress has on your immune system? The stress hormone cortisol is responsible for killing off our bodies natural "killer cells." We need this cells to fight off illness. Massage therapy has been proven to increase production of these killer cells while reducing  the cortisol. It also increases production of dopamine and serotonin our happy hormomes. :)
