~ My Story~
As long as I can remember I wanted to become a massage therapist. This is due to my own struggles with lower back and sciatic pain. My pain began in adolescence and persisted through highschool and into my college years. By the time I was 16, I was already taking muscle relaxers and pain pills. I knew this was not the right path for me, but it wasn't until I moved to Fort Collins in 2003 that I began my healing journey. I started using massage to manage the pain and got off all medications. I shifted my focus to healthy living and began using pilates and yoga to strengthen my weak core and back muscles. Massage therapy is physically demanding work and I do get tired and have aches and pains, but by pacing myself and using preventative maintenance, I am living pain free!
I began working in healthcare at age 16, starting as a Certified Nurses Aide at the local Good Samaritan Center. I found this work very rewarding yet challenging. I enjoy working with seniors and I feel a special connection to them, and it was here that I learned how to care for others, how to listen, how to be compassionate, and the true meaning of hard work.
It is an honor to do the work that I do and I am dedicated to the growth and progression of the massage industry. When I'm not massaging you can find me enjoying time with my husband, practicing pilates or yoga, reading, cooking, crocheting or walking my dog.
